Back to the beginning. The first project, the first inspiration to start “chasing after” real vinyl design & bringing ideas to life. There is no one in the #vinyl game who can even hold a candle to Spartan Records. That isn’t an opinion, it is a fact. John & I have a long-standing friendship that runs way deeper than anything creative that we’ve put out into the world. I trust his instincts & feel for the medium more than anyone I know. If I come to him with a crazy idea, he is the first person to poke holes through it, steering me towards something more unthinkably exciting. I admire the guy. A ton. Christoffer Franzen from Sweden is another-such-fellow whose work is impossibly over-achieving & epic. He can do more with sonic landscapes than the most-renowned neo-classical composers & at such a prolific, young age! I have been following Lights and Motion since day one. I will continue to profess his brilliance, even after he wins his Academy Awards later in life, & these gorgeous, limited record pressings become hopelessly expensive / OOP. In the full layouts we designed for this album, we wanted to introduce new ideas to Chris’ audio/visual concepts for this new record, so we worked with a brilliant photographer friend Crizno on expanding the visual universe of what could-best be described as “an enigmatically beautiful album cover.” We know this record, & the layout we spent months developing will ???? & be worth every cent you spend on it, which you should go do, right now.
