There was very little question that “if we ever worked on the The Chariot “Wars” it was going to be “done right” or not done at all…” I think you all know what I mean by “done right.” Truth be told, this one was put off for so long, because we knew there was just no way we’d have the time to screen print every single cover for 1,000+ run of records.. & the idea of a 12x12 STAMP, to replicate the CD’s manual “making each cover by hand” process worried us for a number of reasons. I can’t remember when it came to me to call Austin Kihn & share with him the idea to make screen-printed, hand-made covers for Furnace Fest exclusively, but he agreed immediately that 500 was a much more manageable number than 2,000. So for the mass pressing, we have a normal, non-screen-printed jacket, but for those who sweated & waited patiently in line while we were lost in the hills of RuffnerMT, you will be seeing something WILD when you get it (still thinking Feb 2022). Josh Scogin was “all in” once we shared our idea for this repress, & making the launch ultra-exciting for a small number of people. Josh got to work on, what I would call, one of the most incredible essays ever to grace the liner notes of anything we’ve ever been fortunate to work on. Josh’s retrospective really brings so much to light that has never been talked about (ex: “why nobody ever stays in a band with me”) & we can’t wait for you to read it.
