This one is tough for me to write about because I ended up writing the entire retrospective for the insert of the album, covering a lot of the band’s history & what makes this album so unique & special to the fans. I will give major props to the band & Chad Johnson and Johnny Grimes at Furnace Fest for allowing this ultra fan a rare & unprecedented opportunity to introduce them at this year’s Furnace Fest. I feel grateful beyond words to Solidstate Records for also giving us the chance to represent their brand & legacy in such a unique way (literally saying to 2,000+ people “Meet me in the pit if you want this record!”). In around 2009, a guy who looked like a much younger version of me was in Alaska on the Earthquake Park Trail, dodging moose during his run with a friend at 1:15 AM, & watching planes coming in off the Knik Arm Bay, about to land over their head. That young man had quite the wild imagination to someday spin “Threads of Sincerity”’s interlude on wax. He got to make it happen, finally.
